Accounting Specialist

The role

As Accounting Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant accounting across assigned entities. Acting as the foundation of the month-end close, you will help deliver clean ledgers, reconciled balance sheets, and audit‑ready financials. Working closely with the Reporting & Accounting Lead, you will support a fast, high‑quality close process where results are right the first time.

Key responsibilities

  • Own and execute the month‑end close for assigned entities, reviewing work performed by the offshore team and resolving issues efficiently
  • Ensure accurate recording and reconciliation of intercompany transactions, including regular checks and matching procedures
  • Work with consolidation systems (Jedox) to validate data, perform variance analysis, and clearly explain movements
  • Prepare audit‑ready documentation, including draft financial statements, reconciliations, and supporting schedules
  • Act as a key contact for auditors, responding to requests in a timely and professional manner
  • Use ERP, consolidation, BI, and reconciliation tools to deliver reliable financial data
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and support system enhancements to drive efficiency and accuracy
  • The successful candidate

  • At least 4 years’ accounting experience in a multi‑entity or multinational environment
  • Strong understanding of bookkeeping, month‑end close processes, and intercompany accounting
  • Working knowledge of IFRS or local GAAP
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred) and strong Excel skills
  • Ability to apply accounting policies to practical, real‑world scenarios
  • Highly organised, detail‑oriented, and disciplined, with strong documentation skills
