Digital Chief Engineer Comminution

Your role as Digital Chief Comminution:

As the Digital Chief Engineer comminution, you will be the technical architect, responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of digital solutions and driving the digital transformation of mineral processing operations in the comminution portfolio of equipment, including but not limited to the HGPR. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to drive R&D, ensure technical excellence, and optimize digital strategies to achieve business objectives. This individual (indirectly) leads a team of engineers and technologists to drive, develop and implement cutting-edge digital technologies, automation systems, and data analytics solutions to optimize mineral processing efficiency, reduce costs, and improve overall operational performance.

Your core responsibilities in 5 areas:

Co-develop the digital strategy with Solution Management to define, align and refine it with your technical knowledge and background to meet the business goals and market trends.

Lead the design and architecture of digital solutions, considering factors such as user experience, scalability, performance, and integration requirements in line with the latest industry standards, regulations and safety protocols. Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend innovative solutions to enhance digital capabilities.

Foster strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders within the mining space and/or research centers to accelerate our digital initiatives. Act as a liaison between technical and non-technical teams ensuring development objectives are aligned with the digital strategy.

Monitor the performance of digital systems and applications, identifying opportunities for optimization and improvement. Implement measures to enhance system reliability, efficiency, and responsiveness to meet evolving customer/business needs.

People management skill to mentor individuals as per their need.

Creative thinking skills and mindset. 

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or Master of Science.

Expert knowledge and proven experience in the mining industry (process + equipment) and Digital technology knowledge (sensing technologies, understanding digital platforms).

You bring at least 3- 5 years work experience as Digital Manager within a Digital work environment.

Strong technical background with the ability to analyse complex problems and propose effective solutions;

You are fluent in English. Next to that the Dutch language is preferred.
