Logistics’ main role is to facilitate sales: have processes and solutions for all products in all markets that meet the standards of the products and the market segments Haygain is targeting: high end of the equestrian ; The Logistics Manager is owner of the functionality of Logistics; all physical movements of goods and storage between production and the end customer, incl after sales logistics.
Key focus areas:

  • Main goal: Support Sales!
  • Principle: fix all the basics, keep it simple.
  • Run, built and maintain the Logistics functionality for Haygain in a Direct2Consumer business model
  • Make sure processes are in place for all parts of the operations
  • Have (all parts of the) operations on the right levels of quantity and quality
  • Make Logistics competitive: the correct levels of service against the sharpest possible costs
  • Set up and drive the Continuous Improvement Agenda


  • Daily execution of outsourced operations
  • Inbound, stock, outbound, transport, returns, VAS/VAL and projects
  • Warehouse operations in NL (Europe) and US (Americas)
  • Final mile distribution
  • After Sales Logistics (incl claims management)
  • Contract Management of Logistics Service Providers (quality, quantity, cost)
  • Business Review meetings
  • End-to-end visibility (from cart to delivery)


  • Minimum 7 years relevant working experience
  • Bachelor or Master degree in SCM & Logistics
  • Operational experience in Logistics and SCM is a must
  • Project management experience
  • Self-starting and motivated to take responsibility for the end result
  • Commercial awareness (to translate logistics to a Sales-marketing organization)


  • Experience with a Logistics Service Provider in Contract Logistics (Direct2Consumer)
  • Knowledge of sea-, and airfreight
  • Conceptual and analytical thinking
  • Knowledge of ERP systems is a must, experience with Oracle Netsuite is a plus
  • Knowledge of integration of ERP, WMS and TMS systems
  • Competent in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Fluent in Dutch and English
