Pentair Industrial Solutions business unit is experiencing significant growth. One of Pentair’s strategic growth pillars is the Biogas area. The Beverage and Biogas projects will be engineered and produced at our Pentair sites or at an approved supplier. Pentair – Sustainable Gas Solutions (SGS) is specialized within CO₂ recovery solutions and Biogas upgrading solution. Pentair helps its clients to lower their carbon footprint and energy bills, and currently we serve customers in more than 150 countries worldwide. To achieve further growth, we are looking for a:
PROCESS / CHEMICAL / MECHANICAL / FIELD ENGINEER (m/f/d)
OBJECTIVE OF THE POSITION
The Commissioning engineer is responsible for project execution on site. He takes care of the commissioning of customer projects after they have been designed, produced and installed.

As a Commissioning Engineer at Pentair, you are responsible for the successful execution of our projects on site. You play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and progress of our installations.
In this role, you will report directly to the installation & commissioning Manager, and operationally closely cooperate with the Project Manager to ensure that the project’s installation and commissioning activities progress smoothly and efficiently.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Site management: As supervisor for the on-site works, it is your responsibility to manage the site.
• Planning: maintaining the project planning and escalated back to office when deadlines will not be met and share progress reports.
• Resources: keep good relationships with customer and subcontractor to act when progress is low.
• Documentation: Time Sheet, Punch List, Taking Over Certificate and Acceptance Certificate, As build documentation.
• Certification: Take care of CE PED for onsite relevant parts, sign off mechanical completion certificate with customer.
• Installation: As the project business is an agile environment, the transition from installation to commissioning can be seamless. Experience and knowledge in the area of installation would therefore also be ideal. - Commissioning:
• Planning: Setup a commissioning plan with the customer and project manager where project deadlines are mentioned and follow-up with progress reports.
• Preparation: Leak test, vacuuming refrigerant systems, cold & hot commissioning plan sign off, IO testing and safety matrix.
• Training: Give practical and theoretical training for operators from customers.
• Performance & SAT: work towards a performance and Site Acceptance Test to handover project towards customer.
• Documentation: Progress reports, update range and setpoint list, as build software download, refrigerant logbook.
• Certification: Training certificates, acceptance test and handover documents. - Communication: Communicate and coordinate between Site, Project Team, Installation and Commissioning Department.
- EHS: It is your responsibility to maintain a safe working environment, keep calibrated/ up to date safety tools.
QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCES
• Process, Chemical, Marine or Mechanical Engineering – Bachelor Level or equivalent qualification.
• At least 3 years of work experience with Commissioning-related and project-based activities.
• English (good speaking and writing skills).
• Technical knowledge and skills in the field of refrigeration, process and control technology.
• Experiences on working in a project team.
• Independent, proactive, flexible and determined and resilient to stress.
• Team-player who enjoys working closely with others and thrives in a team environment.
• Creative in finding solutions, with a strong commitment to quality.
• Good communication skills with a customer-oriented and commercial mind-set.
• Analytical and able to maintain an overview of complex processes.
• Knowledge of tools such as MS Office.
• Knowledge of relevant guidelines and norms (CE PED, ATEX).
